UCSF Craniofacial Center: Inspiring Stories That Drive Change
UCSF’s Craniofacial Center is a renowned institution providing world-class care for individuals with craniofacial conditions. The center is dedicated to advancing surgical techniques, conducting groundbreaking research, and improving the lives of patients and their families. When I was tasked with producing a video for one of their fundraising campaigns, I knew the project had the potential to make a significant impact.
Over the course of three days,
...my team and I worked on-site at UCSF to capture the incredible work being done at the Craniofacial Center. The video tells the story of a mother and daughter who share a unique bond—both having undergone life-changing facial reconstruction at UCSF, decades apart. Their journey became the heart of the narrative, demonstrating the center’s legacy of care and innovation.

The production process required meticulous planning and flexibility. We navigated the busy schedules of doctors, interviewed the Dean of Medicine and researchers, we captured b-roll of consenting patients and filmed all over the center’s cutting-edge facilities. I worked closely with UCSF’s internal team to ideate and script questions and prompts, ensuring the final piece reflected their mission and goals.

On-site, I led a team of four filmmakers, each with specialized roles in cinematography, aerial footage, grip, and sound, while remaining adaptable enough to operate cameras when needed. To ensure every detail was polished, we also brought a makeup artist to prepare on-screen talent.

The resulting video became the centerpiece of a fundraising event, where it resonated deeply with attendees and helped UCSF exceed their donation goals. It was a privilege to contribute to a project that not only showcased the remarkable work of the Craniofacial Center but also directly supported their mission to transform lives.
This project stands as a testament to my ability to balance creative storytelling with logistical precision. From managing a diverse team to working in sensitive environments and delivering a polished final product, the UCSF Craniofacial Center video exemplifies my dedication to producing meaningful, high-quality content.
